Stella the protector!

We discovered tonight that our new house does indeed include wildlife.  Stella alerted Eric and I to 3 "intruders" in our backyard.  There were 3 deer that had wandered into the yard.
Stella has decided that she loves the big window and it is her seat.  To those of you who watch The Big Bang Theory, she has "placed it in a state of eternal dibs."

New House!

Stella is really enjoying the new house!  There is so much space to run and play.  She especially loves looking out all the windows.

She was also helping pack boxes.  The squirrel wasn't supposed to go into the box I guess.

Since she is a big girl now, Stella wants to drive.

It's exhausting to be a Stella!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!

Things we learned:
1. Very few of our friends actually wore an ugly Christmas sweater.
2. We learned that we could get 25 people into our town house.
3. Stella has to share her toys with Link, but Link doesn't have to share his toys with Stella.
4. We all have way more fun when we get together!

Stella and Wally

video
I took Stella over to Mom and Dad's house so that she could experience the snow in a fenced-in backyard.  After running around outside and chasing snowballs, Stella decided that Wally should play with her and did her best to convince him.

Sioux Empire Fair 2012

We had our adventure at the fair this year and I thought I would share.

I was greatly disappointed at the lack of entries for the Arts and Crafts department.  It is understandable that the garden/produce section is down due to the summer we've had.  However, there was only one denim contribution and it wasn't even a Ness Family Project.
This was a messenger style bag submitted in the Junior section of Arts and Crafts.

As we were wandering to make our food choices, we came across a new stand in the mix.  You can guess what the offerings were at the Meat Wagon, LLC.

I chose to go with an option that could be considered "stick food":  Roast turkey drumstick.  They used a rub on the outside so it was nice and caramelized!  Yum-o!
Eric's choice was actual "stick food."  Unfortunately, he ate his jumbo corn dog too quickly and I wasn't able to take a picture.

Stella was pretty happy cause she got a Kong toy that was filled with peanut butter!

New toy!

As Eric was taking a break from studying, he found a deal for a new toy for Stella.  He showed me what it was and immediately I realized that it would be perfect for the squeaky-loving Stella.

It's called "Hide-a-squirrel" and she loves it!
(Sorry for the slightly blurry pictures, she was moving quite a lot.)

The "hide a squirrel" involves a tree trunk and 6 ground squirrel/chipmunk squeaky toys.  As the human, you are required to put the squirrels inside the tree trunk so that your dog can find them and pull them out.
