Stella and Wally

I took Stella over to Mom and Dad's house so that she could experience the snow in a fenced-in backyard.  After running around outside and chasing snowballs, Stella decided that Wally should play with her and did her best to convince him.

Sioux Empire Fair 2012

We had our adventure at the fair this year and I thought I would share.

I was greatly disappointed at the lack of entries for the Arts and Crafts department.  It is understandable that the garden/produce section is down due to the summer we've had.  However, there was only one denim contribution and it wasn't even a Ness Family Project.
This was a messenger style bag submitted in the Junior section of Arts and Crafts.

As we were wandering to make our food choices, we came across a new stand in the mix.  You can guess what the offerings were at the Meat Wagon, LLC.

I chose to go with an option that could be considered "stick food":  Roast turkey drumstick.  They used a rub on the outside so it was nice and caramelized!  Yum-o!
Eric's choice was actual "stick food."  Unfortunately, he ate his jumbo corn dog too quickly and I wasn't able to take a picture.

Stella was pretty happy cause she got a Kong toy that was filled with peanut butter!

New toy!

As Eric was taking a break from studying, he found a deal for a new toy for Stella.  He showed me what it was and immediately I realized that it would be perfect for the squeaky-loving Stella.

It's called "Hide-a-squirrel" and she loves it!
(Sorry for the slightly blurry pictures, she was moving quite a lot.)

The "hide a squirrel" involves a tree trunk and 6 ground squirrel/chipmunk squeaky toys.  As the human, you are required to put the squirrels inside the tree trunk so that your dog can find them and pull them out.

Sorry...

...for the lack of posts.  We've been a little busy with moving.
Stella decided to help with box disposal.

Our trip to OKC

Mom, Stella, and I had an exciting adventure this past weekend.
We took the trip to OKC to visit Kate, Tom, Ben, and Henry!

After a 12 hour trip down due to construction:
Stella and Henry became good friends and constantly chased each other around the house and the backyard.
Ben learned a new trick with the cover to his sippy cup.  He grabbed onto it with his teeth and held it over his chin or flipped the other way over his nose and eyes.  He got a real kick out of that!

Stella was so comfortable at Kate and Tom's that she even laid down next to Henry.  (I'm guessing that she was so tired that she decided this was the best place to crash.)
Granny Janny (or as she is now called "Ya ya") gave Ben a new toy.
He has his very own cell phone.  It lights up and plays music.
Stella was very tired on the way home!  Even now as I'm sitting on the bed typing this post, she is fast asleep next to me.

Stella helps!

Not only does Stella help with disposing of the wrapping paper from Father's Day...
She helps as I do my yoga.

How is this fair?

It was your idea to go to the lake. Why am I being punished with a bath?

Eric and the skid loader

After he started driving around, I was far away!  I have experienced the NASCAR style driving last summer in the incident with the deer.

Container herb garden

Parsley, spearmint, basil

Last day of school

I will miss VHS!

Our little wolverine

So the Stella destruction begins:

As of now, the destruction has been minimal. Only a Nylabone (which is supposed to be chewed), the sling-shot duck (which can hopefully be repaired), and the heating pad (which was our fault-we left it within reach).

Stella likes to share

We have discovered that Stella enjoys sharing Eric's water glass.

"What?  I thought we were supposed to share!"

A day in the life of Stella

I herd my toys to the middle of the living room.

Cuddle with Eric.

Watch over my kingdom from my perch.

Watch some tv.

And now it's time for bed.

Stella is home!

Stella has come home and is settling in nicely.  She is figuring out her space and does pretty well in the kennel.  We had minimal crying last night!
Stella really likes her pink dragon and the ladybug from Auntie Jenny.  She's not so sure about the collar or the leash, but she's getting used to them.

Eric's Law School Graduation

He did it!  Eric has graduated from law school!
Eric wore his red tie at his hooding on May 4th, but at the graduation ceremony on May 5th he went with his "true" colors.  He decided to rebel and wear a blue shirt with a yellow tie (Go Jacks!)

Whatever colors he decides to wear, I am so proud of him and all that he has accomplished!

Stella's Haul

We went shopping!  Most of the things we bought were necessities, but I did have fun picking out some toys and Stella's collar.  She will come home to a bright pink dragon squeaky toy and a hot pink zebra print collar.

Meet Stella!

Today Eric and I went to meet Stella!
She is a Miniature Australian Shepherd and only 10 weeks old.  We are very excited that she is joining our little family!

Stella will be coming home May 10th or so.  It's going to be a difficult week to wait, but Eric and I have to puppy-proof the apartment.  Plus, I have to go shopping for toys and supplies.  I'm not sure if I've ever been so excited to go shopping!
